ARTEMIS: AWARENESS RAISING TOOLS ON ENVIRONMENT, MOBILIZATION, INCLUSION AND SUSTAINABILITY

Key action 1 – Learning Mobility of Individuals

The project’s aim is to promote environmental sustainability through non-formal education.

Important: You should speak basic English and be willing to respect the Covid-19 related safety measures required and implemented by the host organization.

A.1. training coursE (Closed)

Duration: 20-28 September 2023 (7 activity days + 2 days for arrival and departure)

Daily schedule: two 4 hour sessions every day with coffee breaks and lunch break in-between

Deadline for applying: CLOSED – but we are looking for participants for the Youth Exchange (see section A.2. below)

Participants wanted: 4

Age: 18+

Profile of participants: young people, activists, youth workers, facilitators, trainers and/or educators interested in the topic of environmental sustainability and who wish to practice and enhance their trainer/facilitator skills.

Training course objectives:

  • to develop social competences and skills as youth workers and youth leaders;
  • to better explore the issues around environmental sustainability, thus promoting sustainable approaches;
  • to develop, test and assess methods and tools to raise awareness on the subject.

Important: Once the training course is over, one of the participants will be selected to become the group leader of the Romanian team for the November Youth Exchange (see section A.2. below).

Location: La Buona Terra, Passignano sul Trasimeno (PG), Italy. Map: https://goo.gl/maps/kiGWc8v4YLzQhm7t9 (please consider the building is set in a marvelous place but in the countryside, so it is a bit isolated – 30 minutes from the city of Perugia)

The accommodation offers hostel conditions and follows sustainable practices. It has a professional kitchen, shared bedrooms with bunk beds (4-6/room), shared toilets and showers. The meals will be prepared by the in-house kitchen staff and will be served in the same building where the participants are accommodated. There are three main spaces: a living room, a workshop room, and the Ecohouse (for activities and free time). The workshops will be held in the multi-purpose room, set in the same building where participants are hosted.

The local association members of La Buona Terra manage the place following sustainable practices (such as community life, garbage recycling, responsible water use, responsible electricity use, etc.) and participants involved in the project will be invited to follow these practices. A.2. Youth exchange

Duration: 02-11 November 2023 (8 activity days + 2 days for arrival and departure)

Daily schedule: two 4 hour sessions every day with coffee breaks and lunch break in-between

Deadline for applying: October 5th 2023

Participants wanted: 6

Age: 18-25

Profile of participants: young people interested in the topic of environmental sustainability and one group leader who was previously involved in the Training Course and Advance Planning Visit. Participants (other than the group leader) don’t need any previous experience in non-formal education or similar projects.

Youth exchange objectives:

  • to promote exchange, understanding and intercultural learning through non-formal education activities;
  • to raise awareness among young people on sustainability and promoting sustainable lifestyles.

Location: Casa Laboratorio Cerquosino, Orvieto, Italy. Map: https://goo.gl/maps/ETxQRRCVwcZhecH97 (please consider the building is set in a marvelous place but in the forest area of Umbria, so it is a bit isolated – ~5 km from the closest village)

The accommodation offers hostel conditions: bunk beds, shared bathroom, common room with fireplace, delicious home made food.

C.

Methodology:

The whole project will be based on non formal education and we propose a learning by doing approach:

flexibility, being learner-centered, contextualized and based on the promotion of participatory approaches;

horizontal cooperation, where facilitators and experts create a shared learning path with participants and trainees, encouraging the exchange of knowledge;

personal empowerment through self-esteem raising, development of the self-confidence, competences and skills.

Financial conditions

Food and accommodation are covered by the Erasmus+ program.

Plane tickets will either be provided by us or be reimbursed after the training course / youth exchange.

Transportation expenses made in Italy to reach the venue (train, bus) will be reimbursed after the training course / youth exchange.
